In recent years, the global economy has undergone significant transformation as the environmental and economic impacts of the traditional linear economic model have become more apparent. The linear model, which is based on the sequence of extracting resources, producing goods, consuming them, and disposing of waste, has been criticized for its unsustainable use of natural resources and its contribution to environmental degradation. The need for a more sustainable approach has led to the rise of the circular economy, which aims to minimize waste and optimize the use of resources.Principles of the Circular Economy.The core idea of the circular economy is to break away from the linear "take-make-dispose" system and create a closed-loop model where resources are reused and recycled to the greatest extent possible. The circular economy is built upon several key principles:Designing out waste and pollution: Circular economy thinking begins at the design stage. Products are designed with their entire lifecycle in mind, including how they can be reused, repaired, or recycled once they reach the end of their useful life. This reduces the generation of waste from the outset.Keeping products and materials in use: Another principle of the circular economy is extending the life of products and materials by reusing them in innovative ways. This can involve repairing, refurbishing, or remanufacturing products to give them a second or even third life.Regenerating natural systems: The circular economy encourages practices that support and regenerate natural systems, rather than depleting or damaging them.
