BENEFITS OF DISTANCE LEARNING *

Аннотация:
the quality of education is expected to increase as a result of the enrichment of teaching methods in higher education with modern media. In this regard, the distance learning method is especially important for teachers and students, as it has a number of advantages. Technological methods, such as the Internet and multimedia, make it necessary to develop computer programs based on educational materials and manuals that students need

A couple of decades ago, a person who wanted to gain new knowledge was forced to regularly attend educational institutions or libraries. Honestly, we think that every student has faced similar problems. We went to the library, searched, but all efforts were in vain. Because it is not always possible to find all internationally recognized textbooks published in foreign countries. Today, however, there are many learning opportunities; you only need a computer with Internet access. Distance education has become a solution to pressing learning problems, built its own traditions and models that are widely implemented at all stages of knowledge acquisition (from school and higher to the corporate level). Nowadays, distance learning in the West is gaining more and more popularity, increasing the urgency of the problem of developing private methods of applying technical training aids. This is due primarily to the contradictions between traditional and distance learning. An increasing number of people prefer distance learning fulltime and part-time. “Distance education or distance learning» is a field of education that focuses on the pedagogy, technology, and instructional systems design that is effectively incorporated in delivering education to students who are not physically «on site» to receive their education. Instead, teachers and students may communicate asynchronously (at times of their own choosing) by exchanging printed or electronic media, or through technology that allows them to communicate in real time (synchronously). Distance education courses that require a physical on-site presence for any reason, including the taking of examinations, are considered to be a hybrid or blended course or program. While the exact start time of distance education is under debate, the earliest modern form can be traced back to Europe in the early 1800s. The earliest courses were pre-designed materials that would be mailed through the postal service to learners who could not attend universities either because of geography or the high cost of tuition and board. These early courses were called correspondence courses. In these early courses, there were no opportunities for direct interaction, such as faceto-face meetings or instruction. The student would send an order form in the mail and receive a set of printed course materials. The student would review materials and return assignments in the mail, which the teacher would grade. At the end of the course, the student would take an examination and return the results via post. This provided no opportunities for students to ask questions about assignments or have a discussion with their teacher as it would have taken days or weeks to correspond. Distance learning has the following advantages: Accessibility - by studying remotely, you can gain knowledge from anywhere in the world. You can study at home or traveling, in a cafe or in the country - in general,  wherever there is Internet access. However, you are not limited to a country or continent. You are free to get an education at any university in the world. This availability is the main advantage of distance learning. Online lessons are held in two formats - this is either a pre-recorded video lesson, or a live webinar. Live broadcasts that are no different from the usual offline meetings - you can see the teacher and presentation, ask questions, communicate with classmates. Flexibility - in the process of distance learning, most of the material the student learns independently. So, he is free to choose the time for classes. For people who prefer to live in a non-standard schedule, distance learning can be a real godsend. Also this form of education goes well with work. As a rule, the time of online study can be easily adjusted to almost any work schedule. The relevance of knowledge - in recent years, the prestige of traditional education has declined markedly. Many people with a university degree do not find work in their specialty. Graduates of technical faculties become managers in offices, former students of the faculty of philology turn into sales consultants. Against this background, the prestige of traditional university education is declining. Individual approach - in traditional teaching, it is quite difficult for a teacher to devote the necessary amount of attention to all students in a group, to adapt to the pace of each person’s work. Using remote technologies is suitable for organizing an individual approach. In addition, the student chooses the pace of learning for himself, he can quickly receive from the tutor answers to questions. Today, distance learning is experiencing temporary difficulties, such as: 1) insufficient computer literacy of students and trainees, lack of experience in distance learning; many teachers and students are not yet ready for such a teaching method, preferring classical education; 2) insufficient development of information and communication infrastructures not only in Uzbekistan, but also in other countries of the world; 3) training programs and courses are not well developed due to the fact that there are not so many qualified specialists who are able to create such teaching aids
